ABOUT THE STUDIO
Studio Picante is our way of bringing together the things we care about most in clothing: strong shape, considered detail, and a sense of ease.
We design from Mumbai and produce closely with our own workshop, which allows us to stay involved in every stage of the process - from the first sketch and fitting to embroidery, finishing and the final piece. That closeness to making is central to how we work.
Our collections move across resort wear, evening wear and custom dressing. The language is contemporary, feminine and instinctively Indian, but never literal. We are interested in proportion, movement, surface, and the small details that change the way a garment feels when it is worn.
Picante was created with the intention of building something that feels current without feeling temporary - a fashion studio with its own point of view, developed in India and worn in many different parts of the world.
As we grow, the idea remains the same: to make clothes with care, clarity and character, and to keep the relationship between design, craft and the wearer as close as possible.
Clothes made for long lunches, late evenings, slow summer days, and everything that happens in between.
FOUNDER
Studio Picante was founded by Shruti Agrawal after studying Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Paris.
As Founder and Creative Director, Shruti leads the creative direction of the studio and works closely across design, development and image, alongside the team in Mumbai.
